QuikVue Plus Design Concept

It is well acknowledged that imaging is playing a more and more important role in ophthalmology diagnosis. QuikVuePlus is a smartphone adaptor designed especially for anterior segment imaging. It provides 10x magnification which meets the basic eye examination demand for optometrists, general practitioners, pediatricians, veterinarians, etc. The specially designed optical lens enables QuikVue Plus to capture clear anterior images for primary eye care examination and telemedicine.

White and Blue Illumination

QuikVue Plus provides both white and blue illumination respectively. The white LED projects warm white light which is similar to slit lamp’s halogen illumination. There are two levels of white illumination available to meet different brightness demand during examination. The blue illumination can be used to capture fluorescein images to assist diagnosis with corneal staining and contact lens fitting, etc.

Integrated Yellow Filter

QuikVue Plus is equipped with an integrated yellow filter. The flipable yellow filter making it easy for clinicians to take enhanced fluorescein images with cobalt blue illumination. This function is especially useful in lens fitting, cornea ulcer imaging, tear film break up time examination, etc.

Smartphone Compatibility

Thanks to the air cushion design, QuikVue Plus is able to attach on most of the phones in the market firmly. Clinicians need to align QuikVue Plus lens with smartphone’s main camera. The requirements for the main camera location is as below:



Working Application
QuikVue plus can work with smartphone default camera app or VisuScience developed VisuDoc ophthalmic case management app. VisuDoc can be downloaded from both App store and Google play store.


Power Management
QuikVue Plus applies mini Li-ion rechargeable battery. It can be recharged through a Type C cable. There is one light indicator next to the Type C charging port. When the power recharging is finished, the indicator light will turn from blue to green. The switch button has blue light on when working normally. If the power is low, the light will flicker to remind clinicians to do recharge.

2 weeks after cataract extraction+IOL+PKP. The patient had an epi abrasion, treated in addition with 20% serum drops to promote healing. 1 week later, the defect healed completely.

This is a case shared by Dr. Hesham Mahmoud Eissa. These pics for a patient had descemet's membrane detachment at the end of trabe procedure for glaucoma with his colleague. He advised air injection to reattach the detached Descemet's membrane. Few days later cornea is getting clear and descemet's reattach. The above pic is after a couple of days, the air forced the Descemets membrane back in position and started to clear the cornea

C'est un cas partagé par le Dr Hesham Mahmoud Eissa. Ces photos pour un patient avaient un décollement de la membrane de descemet à la fin de la procédure de trabe pour le glaucome avec son collègue. Il a conseillé l'injection d'air pour rattacher la membrane de Descemet détachée. Quelques jours plus tard, la cornée s'éclaircit et se rétracte. La photo ci-dessus montre qu'après quelques jours, l'air a forcé la membrane Descemets à se remettre en place et a commencé à dégager la cornée.

Aconsejó la inyección de aire para volver a unir la membrana de Descemet desprendida. Pocos días después, la córnea se aclara y se vuelve a unir el descemet. La imagen de arriba es después de un par de días, el aire obligó a la membrana de Descemets a volver a su posición y comenzó a limpiar la córnea.

Ele aconselhou a injeção de ar para recolocar a membrana de Descemet destacada. Poucos dias depois, a córnea está ficando limpa e descemet é reconectada. A foto acima é depois de alguns dias, o ar forçou a membrana de Descemets de volta à posição e começou a limpar a córnea.

Hij adviseerde luchtinjectie om het losgemaakte Descemet-membraan weer te bevestigen. Enkele dagen later wordt het hoornvlies helder en wordt het weer vastgemaakt. De bovenstaande foto is na een paar dagen, de lucht dwong het Descemets-membraan terug op zijn plaats en begon het hoornvlies te verwijderen.
